アンチェインド・メロディ～ベスト・オブ・ライチャス・ブラザーズ
ライチャス･ブラザースは60年代に中期,アメリカのポップス界を席巻した白いソウル･シンガーデュオだった｡
映画「ゴースト」での「アンチェイント･メロディ」のリヴァイヴァル･ヒットが大きな話題となり,再評価に繋がったようだが,他にも多くの有名映画や,テレビ番組の中にそれとなく使われる事が多かった音楽達である｡
そこには,時代を代表するヒット曲である事,普遍性を持った曲である事,と言った条件をクリアーできる彼等の音楽の高い質が存在している事が判る｡
僕達が少年の頃,きっと大人の音楽だと思っていたものを今大人になって懐かしく聞いている｡40年前の中学生が今になっても,このデュオの素晴らしさを語れる事自体が本当に素晴らしいと思える｡
正直言って,当時のポップスには今ではもうジョークとしてしか聞けないような音楽も当時にはあった｡でも,彼等のソウルフルで美しい歌声には,今でも感心する｡
９０年頃のライヴ･ビデオを見たら,ボビーのハイトーンはもう辛くなっていたようだったが,このアルバムで聞ける彼等は当然の如くとても伸びやかである｡
